About the Course

This 2 day (16 CE) hands-on, technique driven course will emphasize the use of instruments to assist with soft tissue mobilization. Students will learn to use muscle scraping tools to facilitate remodeling and healing at the tissue level. The current evidence surrounding the use of muscle scraping, instrument-assisted soft-tissue mobilization (IASTM), and gua sha in musculoskeletal disorders will be thoroughly reviewed. Students will learn how to detect myofascial dysfunction and appropriately select the tool and/or technique for the specific dysfunction. Particular emphasis will be placed on appropriately framing the use of IASTM techniques within an evidence-based approach.

Laura Savage

Laura has over 20 years experience in hospitality and education. In 2015, she decided to take her passion for helping people one step further and graduated massage school top of her class. That first year she opened her own business, and became certified in hot stones and cupping and IASTM. In 2016, she wanted to focus more on helping people with chronic pain and became a certified Master Trigger Point therapist, and shortly after, a Medical Massage Practitioner. When Laura is not working with clients, you can find her out camping, hiking, fishing, and paddleboarding with her family.
